Co-author and creator of this page
& web-site Chiefy rides a Cannondale Prophet 1000 Lefty,
Cannondale F2000 Lefty & a F800 Lefty which he
nicks off his wife from time to time. For the 1999 C2C
trip he was on a Trek y-glide with full Hayes discs and
about 5" of travel, front & back, a right pogo stick. His
alias comes from a military cal sign 'Sunray' used to
denote someone in charge. He had the maps and the coast to
coast book you see. His other name simply put, was the first
thing that came to mind following some indiscretions which
involved the co-author being called Dog Shit ! Jon rides for
J.C.Cooks Mountain bike racing team
results &
J.C.Cooks shop and
also competed in both the '1998 UCI Grundig & '1999
UCI Diesel Mountain Bike World Cups in Plymouth. Regular
haunts include the Yorkshire Dales & Peak District as well as
the 25 or so race's and charity events attended each season.
He winter trains around the plant checking-out the brilliant
mountain bike trails.
(With training at the bottom of the list !)

Scalpel 1000 Lefty DLR iT
Cannondale R900
Team Blue (Road Bike) |

Being eight stone wet through,
Matt is not only the lightest of the group he's the youngest.
He rode a Specialized M2 with full Hope x/c 4 pots for
this trip. Matt now has seen the light and rides a
Cannondale Scalpel 1000 Lefty DLR iT. Matt's alias 'Casper'
is taken from the movie of the same name, he looked so white
any more and he'd be translucent, plus if he turns side-wards
you can't see him ! 'Darth Vader' is because he rides for a
local road club, and has a couple of road bikes. Therefore he
has seen the dark side. He's a capable rider, and very good at
technical climbs he is looking forward to joining the other
two for the Bicyclemania.co.uk Coast to Coast epic and
he was looking forward to competing in the UCI Diesel World
Cup event before it moved to another location. (What a
bummer !!) He also had a spell of winter training in
Majorca, the liquid kind with Chiefy.
~ FAV Music:
Something weird, Definitely steps, Cliff Richard.
~ LOVES:
Work it out for yourselves, O.K. Cannondale's ..!
~ HATES:
Taxi drivers, Rail lines, Eggs ?, Paella, Waiting for
Chiefy at the top of every hill.

Cannondale F900
SL Siemens Team Edition |

Co-author of this page, Competitor
in '1998 & '1999 round five of the UCI Grundig & Diesel
Mountain Bike World Cup help in Plymouth. He used to Ride
a Cannondale F900 SL team blue and a Raven series
1000 carbon, now he rides a Cannondale F900 SL Siemens
Team Edition. Formally sponsored by J.C. Cook Mountain
bike racing team in 1998. He used to train in McDonald's,
and ride in the Yorkshire Dales & Derbyshire Peak district.
The alias 'fat whippet' stems from being, shall we say, a
couple of stones heavier than desired, resulting from a
distinct love of food, yet the ability to climb seriously
steep mole hills. The other less complementary alias
derives from enjoying taking the P*%% out my fellow mates. 13
years service in the armed forces stationed all over the
planet working for Queen and country and a sick sense of
humour. Dave has now got the motorbike bug & deep water diving
plus some form of marshal art.
He still uses his mountain bike
when he can be arsed..!
~ FAV MUSIC:
Rage Against The Machine, Abba, Steps.
~ LOVES:
Bad weather, it sorts the men from the boys !, Girls on
mountain bikes, follow that ass !!
~ HATES:
Falling off, Irresponsible car drivers, Taxi drivers, Big
bloody hills, Waiting for his mates at the top of hills.
