We do not what to put anyone off the thought of having a go at the 'SUW' Southern Upland Way just bear in mind, 'You could have all the terrain surfaces their are known to man in 1 kilometre of riding'.

We were going to list a 'Turn by turn' route to follow for each days trail, but basically if you've got an ounce of sense, you will not need a route card. That said ... just keep an eye open for the 'Way-marked, route, some signs are a bit difficult to spot when you're out on the open land. OS maps needed

We reckon if anyone is going to do the 'SUW' by bike, they are going to be a knowledgeable cyclist who has had some first-hand experience at off/road epic trails.
(For example: miles from anywhere the weather turning bad & the bike is playing up.
GET THE PICTURE!
)

~ INFORMATION ~
Bicyclemania took on this epic cross country trail/path not knowing what lay ahead, especially forging the trail by MTB.

(We reckon 85 percent of the route you can ride a bike on & the other 15 percent is full-on shoulder lugging double hard Bast%"*d .. .. tough!'.. .. .. Sorry can't think of any better way to describe it)

One section of the route as I recall is, riding along the sweetest forest twisty single-track you would give your left round thingy for (Well may be not) & then around the corner you were ankle deep in ....'ankle deep stuff' .... it can be like that ..!

  Follow the signs! It runs about 230 miles (By MTB) from Portpatrick on the south-west coast of Scotland to Cockburnspath on the east coast.

It offers fantastic views & varied terrains, crossing the regions of Dumfries & Galloway, South Lanarkshire & the Scottish Borders. It's officially know as a 'path', but in Scotland you can follow /ride it by bicycle, just don't go skidding around all over the place!.
