You can start from anywhere if
you what on this circular route. It over looks the valley of the river
Ancholme through mainly arable countryside and along the Roman road,
Ermine Street. Ermine Street ran from Lincoln to the Humber at
Winteringham, it was constructed by soldiers in the mid-first century
AD and it was one of the finest stretches of Roman roads in the
country. Other attractions are settlements, ancient churches and
deserted village sites. Traffic levels are low to moderate.
