you are at Kidder & Chiefy cruised around the shore line of Ullswater Lake warming up before the road race to Dockray. The trail was easy going on the 'Old Coach Road' so the pair turned the cranks to the crossing off the A66. Stopping in Threlkeld for some lunch & sorting their lives out for the next big push. The pair had a tough ride up the valley between Lonscale Fell (714m) & Saddleback (868m). Once on top they cranked it to Skiddaw House a very bleak spot & moved on for the last push next to Clough Head (726m). From the top of the downhill run to Bassenthwaite they could make out the land mass of Scotland across the Solway Firth. Kidder & Chiefy whizzed downhill to Bassenthwaite village & the well deserved pints of Guinness at the Sun Inn.
you are at After a pint or two Kidder & Chiefy mounted up & wobbled their way to that nights pit-stop at the Castle Inn. Once checked-in & bikes locked away the heated indoor swimming pool beckoned, with a swim & sauna easing the days aches & pains away it was time for some tea. Ping-pong & Pool finish the pair off for the night, so they retired to the room in the west wing.
