The Viking Challenge 50km Off/road course features some
of the most beautiful countryside in the East Midlands. This
year we catered for over 1,000 off/road cyclists & raised
monies for the Leukaemia Research & Redmile Village school. |

~ Bicyclemania Ride ~
'Well would you believe it, a beautiful sunny Octobers day, with
a
fresh nip in the air'
Registration was a simple affair just sign in & say what time
you are going to start & tie on your number to the bike & at the
finish hand it into the time-keepers. Chiefy set off at 09.30
for his ride & with it been the second to last event on the
Bicyclemania.co.uk's race calendar he was going for it !!.
Chiefy said 'the course was very good for a flattish part of
the countryside', the route took in canal tow paths, byways,
woodland tracks, short sharp up-hills, small down-hills, edge of
fields & country lanes. According to Chiefy it looked like
everyone who had a mountain bike of some sort had turned up to
do this event.

total of 1,041 riders had a bash'
Everyone seemed to be in good spirits for the event the route
was well signed and marshalled too, the feed stations were well
stocked with juices & bananas not like some major events Kidder
& Chiefy have competed in. A big thanks must go out to all
involved in the making of this event.
