There was an Enduro style mountain bike race at Builth Wells, Mid
Wales, the Merida Marathon Series.

SUNDAY, SO ITS ANOTHER EVENTS DAY
~ Bicyclemania Ride ~ Hot, Hot,
hot about 95 degrees out & about in the Welch
mountains. The heat was collecting wilting riders by
the truck load, was it just me, or did you see lots of
riders with unhappy faces & broken seat-posts too. I
came across about 5 on my 75km ride, I was beginning
to wonder if I would be next...!. For this year John
Lloyd (Builth Wells Cycles) had put together a new
route and what a epic challenge it was. The route
recipe mix was, Long climbs, narrow single-track,
downhill dark root runs & high Moor tracks & a stream
or two thrown in for good measure. One thing is for
sure, we will remember this one for quite some time.
