The info:
There was an Enduro style mountain bike race at Builth Wells, Mid
Wales, the Merida Marathon Series.
IT'S
SUNDAY, SO ITS ANOTHER EVENTS DAY
~ Bicyclemania Ride ~ " It was every
body for himself/ herself "
From the mass start in the arena, hundreds of mountain
bikers head out and flood the small town of Builth Wells
as the mass throngs head off on the tarmac lanes for about
7km's into the Welch hills. The weather was fantastic,
just right for cycling, warm sun-shine with scatter white
clouds.
~Exciting Course~
Riding along the country
lanes was quite challenging, with hundreds of bikers all
trying to be in the same spot but once out into the open
terrain you had room to move about. The 50km route
followed black on yellow sign to the split where you
picked up black on red signs. The feed stations were well
stocked and were placed in intervals of about 17km's and
36km's. With the dry conditions we had the course was nice
and fast with very little water or mud (Not the norm)
The water splash very near the end of the course seem to
be catching lots of people out, (Or they just wanted
to cool off) Chiefy had no miss-haps and rode one
of the best races he has done for some time.
