~ Bicyclemania Ride ~
Chiefy was at the
Prem1er mountain bike
series event at Sherwood Pines for this 6hr enduro
on the specially designed course created by race legend
Nicky Craig. The weather was hot and dry, it would be a
tough test on this fast rolling course. The bike tag
tested and working, it's off to the start line for the
10am kick-off.
Out of the
village arena and onto a fire-road drag, then into the
single-track sections. The course was well laid out, it
took the riders from one end of the forest to the other a
total of 4 times per lap maximizing the single-tracks and
roller-coaster dips, not to mention the narrow ridge with
all the tree roots. Chiefy set off and put in 3 laps of
this 9.5 miles course before he stopped and had a rest,
camel-back full and off he went for another 4 laps. Chiefy
had a quick rest every time he came back into the
start/finish arena, so he timed it to go out on his last
lap 6mins before the cut-off time. At the end of the race
the prizes were handed out and everybody was chilling out
or burning up. |
