Come & take part in a ROAD-RIDE events in N.E. Lincolnshire riding around the rolling 'Wolds'.
ROAD-RIDE-THREE (Sunday April 22nd 2012)
Take on the rolling hills, low traffic country lanes, around this beautiful area.
We have 2 fantastic challenges distance on offer for you. (40mile/64km & 80mile/128km)
The routes will have 'feed-stops' where you can get some refreshments along the way.
FREE tea/coffee and those little fancy cakes for all riders at the end .. .. !
 
How much will it cost me to take part?
 Pre-entries for the 40mile/64km 'Road - ride' are £10, On the day fee will be £15
 Pre-entries for the 80mile/128km 'Road - ride' are £15, On the day fee will be £20
All cheques please make payable to J. POTTS
We will be raising money for the 'Lives' charity. Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service. (Charity Number:1098364)
When is the last postal date accepted?
 Last postal date for the Bicyclemania Challenge 'Road ride' will be on Friday 13th April 2012
 After this date an on the day fee is applied. (£15 or £20 depending on route distance)
Can I turn up on the day and pay?
 Yes, just come to the H.Q. and sign on by filling out the entry form, then collect your I.D. number and saddle up.
 You will have to log in and out at the finish/start area, if you fail to log in/out, no time will be recorded for your ride.
What is the start time?.
 The start time is between 08.00am & 09.00am, once you have signed in, you can set off within this time frame.
You must go through the timing tent to get a time recording out and the same when you come back.
Can I pay with a credit card, switch card, euros, U.S. dollars?
 Eeerrr.... No, sorry, we can only accept at this moment in time cash or cheques supported with a bankers cards.
What will I receive after I have sent in my entry form?
 If you have pre-entered, you will receive a e-mail confirming you have paid to take part in the event.
Where do I go when I get to the event?
 Please follow the event Marshall's instructions for vehicle parking, then make your way to the H.Q. to sign on.
 Plus collect your information pack along with the rider ID number and route map.
What sort of cycling routes will it be on?
 Routes will follow black arrows on white cards along a marked out route. (Maybe some arrow marks on the tarmac too)
 Taking in uphill sections, downhill sections (Some steep) country lanes, (Some narrow) A-roads, B-roads.
Will there be any refreshments on the day?
 Yes, there will be 'FEED-ZONES' on the route for both the 80 mile and the 40 mile rides.
 Apart from food, water & juice on the route there will be FREE tea, coffee & cakes at the finish for all entrants.
How do I get to the event site?
 Limber village hall, Great Limber, North East Lincolnshire. (Next to the village pond)
 Event signs will be by the road side for approaches.
Are there any toilets at the event site?
 Yes, male toilets, female toilets plus a disabled toilet.
Is there a maximum time allowed to complete the ride?
 Sort of, we aim to have you all back by 16.00.
 A vehicle will go around the route (Where possible) to pick any riders dropping out.
Is the event a race?
 No, It is just what the title suggests - a 'Road Ride' challenge.
 If the individual cyclist wishes to compete against one another or go for a personal best, that is not a problem.
Please remember you will be riding on the public highways.
Will I get a record of the time it took to complete the ride?
We will publish times on the web site after the event for your own interest. (It's not a race) Ride Ride Results
Are there any age limits?
 No, but please bear in mind the routes are over some demanding terrain.
 Riders under 16 yrs old may now enter providing a parent / Guardian e-mails info@bicyclemania.co.uk
declaring the person entering will be capable of completing the course & will be accompanied around the whole route.

If I cannot make it back to the finish arena with my child, what help is there?
 A sweeper vehicle will be patrolling the route to pick up drop-outs, (road only) the driver will not carry any spares.
Is there a collection point?
 Yes, there are collection points on the route at the FEED-ZONE'S marked on the route map.
 If you have to drop-out make your way to the FEED-ZONE and wait there for the sweeper vehicle.
 If you drop-out and leave the event by other means, PLEASE LET THE H.Q. KNOW.
Who do you expected to enter the event?
 Cyclists who are looking for a good day out.
 Serious cyclists who will want to blast around the route,
 Cyclists looking for a bit of a challenge and a fitness ride.
 Sponsored teams and groups plus friends & weird and wacky teams.
 
  THE LEGAL STUFF <>
Please be aware that dangerous cycling is a criminal offence under the 'Road Traffic Act 1991, section 28.
All participants should exercise caution at all times & have due regard to the presence (or likely presence) of other users.
Organisers are not responsible for any injury sustained by you arising from your participation in the cycle events.

You agree to abide by the event marshals, event organisers, Highway code and country code rules.
You are over the age of 16 years (Under 16yr's see below) and fit and able to ride and control a bicycle on a road.
We ask you to wear a British /EU certified helmet during the event ride.
{Mandatory at off/road events, highly recommended on the road}
You will exercise caution on the route, at all road crossings, road junctions, downhills, up hills along the route.
You will not drop any litter on the ride, you will put all litter into provided bins at the feed-zone & event site.
You will behave in a decent manner to the general public out on the ride.
Please DO NOT ride along with headphones on, it's not safe to do so on the public highways.
For under16's a guardian signature is required on the entry form.
(stating you will be accompanied around the whole route by someone responsible for you and your actions)
